Birthday and Rookie cards have a shiny gloss. These cards feature current or retired beanie babies. There are 25 different birthday/bookie cards, each with four different foil colors (red, blue, silver, and gold). The lettering for beanie name and animal type displays the foil color.The hardest to find Birthday and Rookie cards include Tabasco, Lizzy, Nip, Kiwi, and Bessie.

1. This shows the beanie name and animal type, as well as the foil color. For example, this card is a red foil Tabasco. Birthday/Rookie cards can be either Red, Blue, Silver or Gold foil.
The color on the red foil birthday/rookie cards fades from red to gold. The color on the blue foil birthday/rookie cards fades from blue to silver. It's not uncommon for new collectors to think they have a silver or gold card, when in fact it's a blue or red card. If you are not sure whether you have a red or blue card, just look at the color of the lettering of the animal type. For instance, look at the card above. The word "Tabasco" fades, but the words "the bull" are solid red.
2. All birthday/rookie cards have the birthdate printed in gold. The Rookie cards also have the birthdate printed in gold. Below the birthdate is a blue box with the word "ROOKIE" printed in gold (click here to see).
3. This represents the beanie's style number.

4. This is the name of the card and animal type.
5. This area displays information about the featured beanie such as birthday, date issued, and retired date.
6. This is the card number. This card is number 48.
7. This section has a poem about the featured beanie.

Blue Foil - 1:6 packs - Your odds of finding a BLUE birthday/rookie card are 1 in every 6 packs. At $2.00 a pack, that's $12.00!
Silver Foil - 1:24 packs - Your odds of finding a SILVER birthday/rookie card are 1 in every 24 packs. At $2.00 a pack, that's $48.00!
Gold Foil - Only 150 of each card.
